What to Know

Meet the RATLINGS: a 12-op elite squad of sneaky, shooty specialists! Their SCARPER rule gives free repositioning after enemy activations, keeping them mobile and elusive. Most operatives are fragile (6 wounds, 5+ save) but fast with unique movement tricks. They favor ranged combat with powerful rifles (sniper, tankstopper) that gain Silent, Balanced, or Lethal rules via ploys. Bullgryn/Ogryn provide tough melee options (16 wounds, 4+ save). Play them as a hit-and-run force that controls the board through superior positioning and precision fire!

Faction Rules

  • Scarper: After enemy activation, one friendly RATLING operative can Dash for free, but cannot end within 3" of visible enemies.

Strategic Ploys

  • Sniper Positions: Rifle gains Silent when stationary in heavy terrain.
  • Shifty: Cannot be targeted in cover with Conceal order.
  • Crack Shots: Rifle gains Balanced when shooting distant targets.
  • Frontline Assault: Weapons gain Balanced in enemy territory or near objectives.

Firefight Ploys

  • Survival Instincts: block critical or multiple successes when defending
  • Larcenous: pick up markers without controlling them
  • Sharpshot: ignore friendly operatives for target selection
  • Shoot and Hide: change order to conceal after shooting

Equipment

  • Purloined Rations: Improve rifle Hit stat by 1 once per turning point
  • Stolen Goods: Roll D3 for CP gain or loss at end of Select Operatives step
  • Lucky Round: Grants Severe weapon rule to rifle once per turning point
  • Improvised Armour: Defence dice results of 5+ are critical successes for Ratling Bullgryn/Ogryn

A:
A RATLING kill team always consists of one RATLING FIXER and ten additional operatives. Up to three of those additional operatives can be BULLGRYN or OGRYN. For each of those three that is not, you select a different RATLING operative and one ploy to cost you 0CP for the battle.

  • RATLING FIXER: Select 1 operative with one of the following options:

    • Battle rifle; fists
    • Sniper rifle; fists
  • Other RATLING Operatives: Select up to 10 operatives from the following list:

    • BATTLEMUTT
    • BULLGRYN
    • OGRYN
    • BIG SHOT
    • BOMBER
    • HARDBIT
    • RAIDER
    • SNEAK
    • SNIPER
    • SPOTTER
    • STASHMASTER
    • VOX-THIEF

    Each operative can be equipped with one option from each of the following:

    • Grenadier gauntlet or power maul
    • Brute shield or slabshield

Additional Rules from SCARPER Faction Rule

  • Other than BULLGRYN, OGRYN, and SNIPER operatives, your kill team can only include each operative on this list once.
  • You cannot select more than three of BULLGRYN, OGRYN, and SNIPER operatives combined.
  • Up to three times, instead of selecting one of BULLGRYN, OGRYN, or SNIPER operatives, you can select one RATLING ploy to cost you 0CP for the battle.
  • Note: Some RATLING rules refer to a 'rifle'. This is a ranged weapon that includes 'rifle' in its name, e.g., tankstopper rifle, all profiles of a sniper rifle, etc.
