This view groups factions by tournament performance for the selected rules update.

Selection criteria. Games from in-person events with 3 or more rounds, excluding league play. Limited to the 3 most recent Balance updates plus any newer Release updates.

Player-event. One person attending one event — a single tournament entry. For this update, ~21 player-events ≈ 1%.

  • Pick rate — share of player-events that brought this faction.
  • Win rate — share of games won, with ties counted as half a win.

Factions with fewer than 30 games are grouped into Insufficient Data rather than placed in a cluster.

How to Read These Charts

These violin plots show how Victory Points are distributed across games:

  • Width = Frequency: The wider the shape at any point, the more games ended with that VP score. Think of it like a sideways histogram - fat areas mean common scores, thin areas mean rare scores.
  • Dashed Line = Median: The horizontal dashed line shows the median (middle value) - half of all games scored above this line, half below.
  • Box = Middle 50%: The rectangular box highlights where the middle 50% of scores fall (from the 25th to 75th percentile). Most "typical" games end up in this range.

Example: If the violin is widest at 3 VP, that means 3 VP was the most common score. If it's thin at 0 VP and 6 VP, those extreme scores were rare.
